project overview
Nadine, a European master hairstylist based in Sydney, needed a website that streamlined her appointment booking process while aligning with her desire to grow her business and hire her own staff.
The key objectives:
Build around her existing Square-based booking system to avoid data migration headaches.
Provide a scalable platform for future salon expansion.
Empower her with creative control over the website’s visuals and content.
key paint points
Frequent Booking Errors → Clients often selected the wrong service, leading to uncomfortable price discussions upon arrival at the salon
Last-Minute Cancellations → No-shows and late cancellations caused revenue loss.
Disjointed Communication → Managing bookings, payments, and client messages across multiple platforms was inefficient.

my role & strategic approach
my role & strategic approach
1. Visual Identity & platform selection
The first step for us was to define a base visual identity to set up the foundation of the business .
I then compared website builders for cost, ease of use, and scalability.
Chose WIX for its affordable hosting, no-code flexibility, and robust booking/payment system—enabling Nadine to self-manage content and service updates.
2. UX/UI & Booking Optimization
Structured service categories to minimise booking error.
Set up a checkout flow integrating deposit payments, ensuring cancellations result in less revenue loss.
Set up a client portal for clients to manage their appointments, track past services, and upload hair photos for personalised consultations. This reduces admin tasks for Nadine.
2. Business Growth & Future-Proofing
Created a cohesive brand identity across the website to be used on social media, with templated assets for ongoing content creation.
Set up discount coupon feature + strategie (e.g., “Black Wave 15% OFF”) to boost conversion.
Integrated WIX Inbox, consolidating messages from email, live chat, and social platforms—helping Nadine retain more client leads.

services + packages restructure into categories

a la carte services + packages bookings filtering
impact & results
Reduced cancellation rate thanks to deposit enforcement.
Clients love the improved booking experience—clearer service categories lead to fewer errors.
Nadine enjoys the creative control, easily updating her website and aligning social media content with her branding.
This solution not only improved day-to-day operations but also laid the foundation for Nadine’s future salon expansion.
